Tragedy in Zamfara: Bandits Ambush and Kill 7 Security Personnel

A brutal ambush by bandits in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, resulted in the deaths of five police officers and two soldiers. The attack unfolded on Thursday along the Gusau-Funtua road, where the bandits had blocked the route to execute their plan of infiltrating Setraco Construction Company and kidnapping its staff.

According to Commissioner of Police Muhammad Shehu Dalinja, security forces—comprising both police and military personnel—responded to the threat but were met with overwhelming gunfire. Despite their courageous efforts, the security operatives were outnumbered and outgunned, leading to a deadly confrontation.

This tragic incident highlights the increasing violence and terrorism in Zamfara State. Authorities have pledged to escalate their efforts against the bandits and work towards restoring peace in the region.
