Rema challenges Afrobeat's status quo. 

In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Rema, confidently talks about his place among the "Afrobeats Big 3" alongside Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid. 

When asked if he believes he deserves a spot next to Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid. He replied "With respect to the OGs, but I am one of them...," 

"I think my career didn't play according to those rules," Rema said, referring to the expectation of needing a decade of experience to gain respect. "I was already breaking 7-year-old records when I was just 3 years in the game."

Rema's claim is backed by his achievements so far, including his record-breaking single "Calm Down" with Selena Gomez, which is the first Afrobeat song to earn over a billion on-demand streams in America. When asked about this achievement, Rema humbly replied, "Great, all glory to God."

Rema also talked about his second album 'HEIS' which he says was motivated by his desire to move against the status quo and push the boundaries of Afro music. Rema is undoubtedly making a significant impact on the industry.
