Dr. Ighodalo Gains Key Endorsement from Edo Market Women

Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor, has secured the endorsement of the Edo State Market Women Association, marking a significant boost to his campaign. The announcement was made by association president Madam Blacky Ogiemen during a gathering hosted by Governor Godwin Obaseki in Benin City.

Madam Ogiemen commended Governor Obaseki's administration and expressed confidence that Ighodalo would build upon its achievements, stating, "The Edo State Women Traders have always supported the government and will continue to do so." In response, Governor Obaseki thanked the market women for their loyalty and promised a N1 billion grant to assist them with the impacts of hyperinflation, adding that Ighodalo would double the grant if elected.

The event drew notable attendees, including First Lady Betsy Obaseki and Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, with market women showing their enthusiasm through dance. This endorsement is a crucial milestone for Ighodalo’s campaign, as the market women's association plays a vital role in the state’s economy, potentially giving him a competitive edge in the upcoming election.
