The Nigerian Army has apprehended a soldier who fatally shot Ismail Mohammed, a 16-year-old boy, during the EndBadGovernance protest in Kaduna State.

The incident took place on Tuesday when troops were deployed to the Samaru community in Zaria to enforce a curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Government and disperse protesters. According to Nigerian Army spokesperson Onyema Nwachukwu, the soldiers responded to a distress call reporting hoodlums gathering in Samaru, burning tires, and throwing stones at security personnel. Upon arrival, the soldiers tried to disperse the crowd, and a soldier fired a warning shot that tragically led to Mohammed's death.
